Why it matters Public boat ramps close and Emma Long swimming is off while the lake is down.

LCRA will lower Lake Austin (Mansfield Dam to Tom Miller Dam) from October 12 through November 30, about 10 feet, no more than about a foot a day. Public boat ramps on the lake close. Swimming at Emma Long is off for the duration. Refill is scheduled to start November 24.

Property owners can repair docks and bulkheads on the exposed lakebed (some work needs City or TPWD permits). Open house: Wednesday, September 9, 6–8 p.m., Permitting and Development Center, 6310 Wilhelmina Delco Drive, Room 1407.

Why it matters The city tax rate and FY27 budget are set. The county rate is not. Central Health’s hearing is September 2.

Council adopted the FY 2026–27 budget. The city says a typical combined tax-and-utility increase is $23.82 per month: $9.48 in property tax at $0.579948 per $100, plus $14.34 in electricity, trash, water, drainage, and the clean-community fee. General Fund is $1.5 billion; planned capital is $4.3 billion.

Travis County, separately, posted its 2026 no-new-revenue rate at $0.378179 per $100. Central Health posted a Wednesday, September 2, 5:30 p.m. hearing at 1111 E. Cesar Chavez St. on a proposed 2026 rate of $0.135195 per $100.

TxDOT’s Oak Hill Parkway alerts list overnight work Sunday through Thursday: US 290 frontage roads reduced to one lane in stretches, William Cannon one lane each way between Escarpment and the NXP driveway, and SH 71 reduced to one lane each way between US 290 and Fletcher Lane.
